I'm almost to 39 weeks. We've had one false alarm a couple weeks ago. My latest cervical check revealed that I'm 70% effaced (thinning of the cervix) and barely dilated (opening of the cervix). I had some back pain and cramping after my cervical check but no consistent contractions. I hate the waiting game; I just want to hold my baby girl.
